Hello! My name is Shawn Churchill and I'm an unemployed freelance writer/blogger that is trying to make a name for himself. I tend to specialize in film critiques, but I've also written articles concerning comics, TV shows, cartoons, books, video games, and current events too.
At the moment I'm putting together several cartoon pitch ideas for Cartoon Hangover (despite lacking artistic skills), lol.
However, for me, a job it isn't about making money. Writing brings me nearly unimaginable joy. And that's why I do it. "Radix malorum est cupiditas." Plus studies have shown that more income doesn't equal increased happiness.
I was inspired by my friends, Lindsay Ellis (The Nostalgia Chick), Doug Walker (The Nostalgia Critic), film critic Roger Ebert, writer/critic Gail Simone, and various other movie review television programs/segments to pursue this career.
My previous works can be found on http://www.examiner.com/film-249-in-tampa-bay/shawn-churchill and http://thechurchillreview.blogspot.com/.
I currently (and actively attempt to) post on Facebook via Thechurchillreview and Twitter (same name) too. :D
"These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead.” ~Robert G. Ingersoll
